Fishy Lady

Every year, Our Lady of the Lake University (in San Antonio, Texas) holds a one day convention called Mizuumi-Con (there's nothing mini about it!). They always ask for art submissions for their badges and program cover and usually I try and enter something.

The last two years, the suggested theme for the program cover has been the university name, which is what I went with without fully reading this year's rules (I'm super sick right now...so concentrating on things doesn't work so well). And yes, there are fresh water jellyfish. No, they don't really look like that.

Anywho, there's an addendum to the rules this year about optionally focusing your art on vampires as the main guests are voice actors from Rosario+Vampire. So yeah, oh well on that mark. I really love what this ended up looking like. And that's about all I care about right now.

All art is done in Adobe Illustrator CS4, all patterns and textures are hand done and consist of layering colours in blobs in semi strategic ways. No raster, no pattern brushes used.
