I cannot stress how much I love this. (I know the jellies aren't anatomically correct. I usually use reference pictures for animals, but this was such a spur of the moment piece that it didn't happen)

I don't do coloured lineart often (because I think it's a pain in the bum), but this picture started with the knowledge it had to be done this way.

Small break from Hanna fan art (break will continue. I have a super seekrit art project I need to get done).

It came from a dream. A rather scary dream. One with a girl wearing a squid. Yes. A squid. No those aren't squids. Yes this piece started with her wearing a squid on her head...somehow it morphed into two jellyfish. Which I love. LOVE. I'll still do a pinup with a squid...it's just not this one.

Also. Spats are sexy.

I may pop up an animation of how the piece came together...it was originally intended as a tutorial for how I do things, but I realized it's boring...and that I forgot I was making a tutorial and went through a few things without documenting them.

**I'm often asked what program I use to make anything. The answer is Illustrator. I don't use Photoshop unless I'm actually editing photos. I don't use filters or photo/external textures, just my handy brushtool and lots of layering on colours and shapes until it turns into what I want.**

O______O WOW. Seriously, WOW. I don't even know what to say, it is just way too amazing for words. I seriously LOVE this!!!! I want a print so badly, if you are at San Japan PLEASE PLEASE bring a print of this for me??? I love it, the idea is amazing and in your style- its just so beautiful and eye catching!!! I love the idea, and the colors are just so brilliant. They all flow together perfectly and really make it pop. Especially the color you added to her hair, its a perfect touch. I think Spats are sexy too, especially when drawn like that ^_____^ My favorite part of this has to be the blue scales and flowers on her skin there- its such a perfect touch and it really is beautiful! It makes me want a mermaid character very badly

Hm, last time I got one of those oddly shaped ones... its long one way and normal paper sized the other. Lame for me not knowing the sizes, I am sorry. But any size you have I will buy

ahh, I think you have an 11x17 which is tabloid size. *nods* That's actually what these are sized at...so they'll prolly be around that size as long as I can find someone to print that ratio again ^^.
