Description
This is Part IV of the publication date princess series (though this is an exception)
Information on purchasing the set as a whole can be found here:
This one is a little different than the others. While the others' costumes revolve around their publication date, Snow White's (who was actually the first one to be done; done for *saturnangel's birthday card) revolves around a late night's random research and finding a fair few articles on how Snow White was quite possibly based off of a woman from the 1540s that attracted the love/attention of Phillip II of Spain (she died of poisoning before they could be married).
I love the fashion of the mid 16th century. The world was coming out of a mini ice age, so everything is layered and voluminous and covered in luxurious fabric, patterns, furs, and gems (under the idea that you have a large canvas, might as well use it fabulously!). The waistline was also high (which I'm a big proponent of). And hairstyles weren't all that insane.
Others in the series:
1740s Belle/Beauty:
Sleeping Beauty:
Cinderella:
Snow White:
Rapunzel:
Second set will be Pocahontas, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana/Princess and the Frog, and Jasmine.
Additional plans include: Tinkerbell, Esmerelda, and Megara. Not sure about any others, suggestions are always welcome.
Art done in Adobe Illustrator. All patterns are vectors. Damask print was taken from a free commercial use pattern swatch and live traced and expanded to make it into vector. All other patterns were painstakingly hand drawn.
